As we mark Breast Cancer Awareness month this October, the color pink is everywhere from the NFL to your local mall and everywhere in between. One thing you might not expect to see is pink windows – until now! In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Hastings Training Center and several of our retailers are displaying full size Integrity All Ultrex Double Hung Windows painted pink, complete with Komen for the Cure® signage. Staff members at participating retailers will be wearing pink shirts on Fridays in October, and pink corner samples will be traveling around with some of our retail sales representatives.
A.W. Hastings’ Field Marketing Manager MaryLynn Heim and Field Sales Representative Tom Allard came up with the idea for this project last October. “It’s a great way to call attention to the paintability of Integrity Wood & All Ultrex Windows and Doors while promoting breast cancer awareness and supporting an important foundation,” said MaryLynn.
Integrity products come in 6 standard color finishes, but if stone white, cashmere, pebble gray, bronze, evergreen, or ebony are not the colors you’re looking for, just paint it the color you want! Integrity Ultrex Fiberglass provides a superior, consistent finish that can be painted, even in dark colors, and even pink, without voiding the warranty. The patented acrylic capping resin used on Ultrex Fiberglass provides a superior, consistent finish. Ultrex Fiberglass components meet AAMA 623-10 standards.
Donations are being accepted at some participating locations to benefit the fight against breast cancer with Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Visit ww5.komen.org to donate directly to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. MaryLynn said that so far the pink windows promotion has been extremely successful, and that the hope is to expand it to even more Hastings retailers in 2014.
