7 Tide Architect Spotlight: Stephen and Judith Selin

Posted: January 12, 2017

Eight New England architects recently unveiled their Marvin Window dream designs at ABX in Boston. Over the coming weeks, each architect will be profiled with his or her My Marvin Project window in our Architect Spotlight. Today’s Spotlight is on Stephen and Judith Selin of Selin + Selin Architecture in Shelburne, VT.

Stephen and Judith Selin of Selin + Selin Architecture

Stephen and Judith Selin found their Marvin design inspiration in part from the stained glass patterns of the Scottish turn of the century duo of Charles Rennie MacKintosh and Margaret MacDonald, who in turn took their inspiration from nature. The husband and wife team loves that their design seems random and, at the same time, very ordered.

Each architect who designed a Marvin Window was also asked to choose a song that they felt went well with their creation. The Selins chose “This Is Us,” by Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris.

The Selin’s creation has a Liberty Bronze clad exterior and Espresso Stained Interior on pine. Oil rubbed bronze hardware finishes off the stunning window.  For more window and door inspiration, visit Marvin at 7 Tide.
